With the parry and block drills we are practising at the moment, how much weight should you shift when you step to parry? On Friday night it felt like I was stepping out of the way then leaving half my body behind, when I realised I needed it to cross punch or turning kick and found it awkward to pivot the front foot. Is there something I should always be aware of like posture position?
If ay instructors can kind of get the jist of what im saying, I would really appreciate any feedback you can give.
