Spar class drills

Instructors and Grandmaster Geoff,

With the parry and block drills we are practising at the moment, how much weight should you shift when you step to parry? On Friday night it felt like I was stepping out of the way then leaving half my body behind, when I realised I needed it to cross punch or turning kick and found it awkward to pivot the front foot. Is there something I should always be aware of like posture position?
If ay instructors can kind of get the jist of what im saying, I would really appreciate any feedback you can give. :wink:
