Thank you for the advice Sir,

Since I've never given blood before, I have no idea as to the taxing effect and the duration of.

Your advice has been noted.

Regards

March 09

Just donated plasma again last Friday.

It is a really important time to be donating as the bushfire burns victims need your help. This will be ongoing as the burn victims recovery time will be lengthy.

So if you donated for the first time to help these people please donate again as they need your help.

Donated again today 01/05/09.

Liverpool has asked that next donation they try me for platelets.
Takes a little longer but the product is ready to use straight away and will help more people, so I said that I will give it a go next visit.

Have you become a Donor?

Hi Sir Graham,

I consider it an act of altruism to give blood, so I went for a general health test where they took 5 vials of blood, check my fundi, and blood pressure.
My doctor told me that the good news is that there's nothing wrong with my
health, but the bad news is I'm bad for his business.
Anyway, I rang the RED CROSS with the wish to donate blood, but
I failed on one question--- Have I ever lived in England for six months or more between 1988-1996. I did lived in England between 1994-95.
And due to their new policy regarding the mad cow disease scare, I'm not allowed to give blood. Though, I appreciate Australia's strict regulation on health matters.

Small minds talk about people.

Hey all,
Ironically I just gave blood on Tuesday. I went with a couple of friends and it really turned into a happy experience. My one friend who suffered a misscarriage about a year ago found out she was pregnant during the interview process because her iron was so long. How's that for a happy ending!

When i was in donating on the 29th of May I saw a lot of younger people who had come in for the first time.
Some were from school and others were just groups of friends. They really looked like they were happy to be helping out.

Sir,
As of today (well 2 hours ago), I am a blood donor and I'll be back in a month to give plasma and then start looking into platelets.

I felt fine during and after. No light headiness or nausea. Now I can hardly wait to find out what blood group I am :)
